Private credit · Investment banking · Private equity
One-on-one interview preparation from working credit investors in New York — not coaches, not students, not a course.
The gap
Investment banking has guides. Private equity has a well-worn path. Private credit has neither. Recruiting is off-cycle, unstructured, and idiosyncratic to each fund — and the technical bar is set by people who underwrite deals every day.
So candidates prepare the only way they know how. They memorize an LBO, rehearse three deals, and walk into a room where nobody asks them to maximize an IRR. They get asked how they would size a unitranche, where they would set the leverage covenant and why, and what their recovery looks like if EBITDA comes in twenty percent light in year two.
These are not trick questions. They are the job. But almost nothing in the standard prep canon teaches them, so strong candidates get cut for gaps nobody told them existed.
Every course on the market teaches you to model the top of the capital structure. Credit funds hire people who can defend the middle of it — and who know what happens to each tranche when the plan misses.
Who teaches
Your sessions are taught by people who do this for a living right now — currently on a private credit desk in New York, previously at a distressed debt firm. Direct lending and special situations, senior through junior, with a graduate degree in finance behind it.
That combination is the point. Underwriting a performing loan and working out a broken one are two halves of the same skill, and candidates who understand both interview very differently from candidates who have only ever built an upside case.
We don’t publish names, firms, or headshots. Our instructors hold full-time seats, and candidates are frequently recruiting against people they sit next to. Discretion runs in both directions — ours and yours. You’ll speak with your tutor directly on the intro call and can judge the quality for yourself before paying anything.
Curriculum
Credit is the specialty. Banking and private equity are covered to the same standard — the underwriting mindset transfers in both directions.
Process
Twenty minutes. Where you are, what you’re recruiting for, and how much runway you have. If we’re not the right use of your money, we’ll say so on this call.
Before session one, a short technical set that shows where the real gaps are. Most candidates are wrong about which parts they’re weak on.
Sixty or ninety minutes over video, screen-shared and worked live — no recorded lectures. You leave each session with notes and something specific to build before the next one.
Full-length mock interviews and modeling tests run the way the funds run them, with feedback in the language an interviewer would use.
Results
“I came in able to talk about an LBO and nothing else. He rebuilt how I think about a deal from the lender’s side — sizing, covenants, what actually happens in a downside. By the final round I was having a conversation instead of reciting answers. I signed with a major private credit shop.”

Questions
Because our instructors hold full-time seats in the industry, and because candidates are frequently recruiting against people they sit next to. Anonymity protects both sides. You’ll speak with your tutor directly on the intro call and can judge the quality yourself before you pay anything.
Rates depend on format and how many hours you need, and we’ll quote you on the intro call once we know what you’re actually preparing for. We don’t sell packages to people who don’t need them.
No, and be skeptical of anyone who does. We control your preparation. We don’t control headcount, timing, or who else applied.
Yes. Those tracks are covered to the same standard. The credit specialization is what makes the preparation unusually rigorous — underwriting downside is a harder discipline than underwriting upside, and it transfers.
For on-cycle processes, six to ten weeks is comfortable. For off-cycle credit roles, which is most of them, start as soon as you begin networking — those processes move fast once they start and there is rarely time to prepare mid-process.
A small number at a time, by necessity. Our instructors teach around full-time investing jobs — we are deliberately not a roster of contractors working from a script.
